Susan & Corey featured on Beauty & Lifestyle Bride

It almost feels like yesterday that I shot Susan & Corey’s beautiful wedding on Martha’s Vineyard. Their wedding just got featured on the Beauty and Lifestyle Bride blog, go have a peek! :o)

It’s honestly one of my all time favorite weddings, not only did everything (and everybody!) look just beautiful, but the whole day was just wonderful. I never felt like they made the whole day look like it was about all the details (which were obviously beautiful!), but the day was about them celebrating as a family, with lots of friends. I think it’s safe to say that everybody had a wonderful time chatting, playing games, enjoying the view, food, drinks and dancing to the beat of an awesome band. It was a beautiful wedding in so many ways.

Having said this, I know that S&C (+ their families) put a lot of work and love into the wedding planning, and Susan did such an AMAZING job that I’d love to share some  of her insights with you all:

Misc Details:
Everything I wore that day was from the girls of the family:
Something old – My Moms engagement ring from my Dad
Something new – My Aunt bought me a brand new bracelet from Swarovski
Something borrowed – My cousin loaned me the earrings she wore on her wedding day
Something blue – My sister bought be blue Tory Burch flats – I’m not a heels girl and these were so fun and perfect
I also wore Gucci perfume, and pinned heirlooms from my grandparents and great grandparents who have all passed into my dress.

My Dad performed the service, he was ordained for a day, we couldn’t think of anything better than having my Dad marry us, it was especially special for me as the bride to have my Dad truly give me away.

The wedding reception was a real labor of love. The venue is actually my husband Corey’s Aunt & Uncle’s home, and most everything at the wedding was homemade/DIY! For example:

The wooden signs on the property were created and painted by Corey’s mom.  After Hurricane Sandy ravaged the steps to the beach at the home, she picked them up and re-purposed them into those gorgeous signs!

Everything on the tables was purchased from Amazon or Homegoods.  Myself,  Mom, Sister, Corey’s Mom and Aunt Lynne collected candles and mercury glass vases over the year for the tablescapes.

As our guests arrived they were offered our signature cocktail, double lemon lemonade or double vodka lemonade, served out of mason jars.

For cocktail hour we stuck with the island theme and served lobster rolls, clam chowder, pulled pork sandwiches, corn fritters and had a full raw bar.

Dinner, which was balsamic chicken and butternut squash ravioli, was served family style, with bottles of wine on each table.

The lavender on the table was all hand tied with lavender that was purchased and shipped in bulk from Washington State.

The card box is actually a mailbox which we painted.

Corey and I created koozies for our guests from CustomInk.com.  They were a joy to work with and I would highly recommend them.

In lieu of a guestbook, guests were asked to sign a coffee table.  It’s now one of our favorite pieces of furniture in our home.

Corey was born and raised on Martha’s Vineyard, so as favors, Corey’s Mom made homemade jam from raspberries grown in her backyard as wedding favors.

Gown Designer:
It is originally a Pronovias gown, however I worked with Enelda, of Enelda’s Happy Brides in Sparta, New Jersey.  She is a wedding dress maker with 35 years of experience.  She completely took apart the dress and reconstructed it to the final design.

Bridesmaid Designer
Monique Lhuillier for Norstrom.  The dresses are only sold at Nordstrom stores, but they are completely reasonable for a Bridesmaid dress, and come in many colors!

I really love the fashion inspiration board that the Beauty & Lifestyle Bride editor Faythe created. See the high res version on their site.

If you haven’t seen Susan & Corey’s wedding photos yet, go check then out here or ready the post on Beauty and Lifestyle Bride.

Love you guys! <3

Susan & Corey • Private Estate, Martha’s Vineyard, MA

This wedding will always have a very special place in my heart. Not only is the bride friends with some very good friends of ours but they also held their wedding on Martha’s Vineyard, where I’ve been dying to shoot! :o) Their entire wedding was just SO perfect, from start to finish! Beautiful weather, not too hot, and definitely not cold, Susan made everything look just beautiful – in fact if I were to do my wedding over again, this is exactly how I’d want it (well, assuming I’d have a cool aunt that’d chop down trees for my wedding tent, haha). They got married at one of the most beautiful, bright churches I’ve ever seen …. and held their cocktail hour  & reception at Corey’s aunt’s house which was located directly by the sea. I mean, doesn’t get much better, right?! Beautiful views and tasty sea food! YUM! Talk abotu spoiling your wedding guests!

Thank you guys SO much for letting us capture your beautiful day!! I hope you enjoy this little recap :o)

Susan & Corey held their ceremony at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, on Martha’s Vineyard and celebrated all night long at Corey’s Aunt’s residence at Oak Bluffs.

A very special thanks to my second photographer, Savannah whose photos are sprinkled into the set below.

Ready for some wedding photos? Here we go :o)

Susan’s gooorgeous dress:

Love the little birdhouse in the back :o)

If I were to do my wedding over again, I think this would be the bouquet I would want. How beautiful is that?!?! LOVE the soft colors!

Her maid of honor’s bouquet was beautiful also:

Meet Susan, the gorgeous bride!

I just love ALL the pre-ceremony portraits we got from her … I did a slightly different processing on these than usual, just love the soft, dreamy colors :o)

Soooo pretty!

Family <3

And one showing off their gorgeous rental house!

Meet Corey, the groom with the bluest eyes ever … and his brothers! :o)

Uhm, yup that’s me out at the front, hehe :o)

The Old Whaling church is suuuuch a beautiful building! Talk about spoiling your wedding photographer with all that natural light! My goodness!!!

And you gotta love it when the groom tears up :o)

Susan’s dad was also the officiant at their wedding, makes everything just so much more personal!

I’d say they are one loving, happy family :o)

This shot is a little insider (see party photos later) :o)

The bridal party! :o) Photos taken right in front of the pretty Dr Daniel Fisher’s House around the corner from the church.

And a few of the gorgeous couple. Uhm … sorry for the amount of photos, I could just NOT decide which ones to post :o)

We stopped by the Lighthouse in Edgartown before heading out to Corey’s Aunt’s house:

I loved their pretty details, made with so much love!

Recognize the couple in the middle? 2 of my favorite “wedding crashers” and best friends :o)) Hi Kristen & Joss :o)

This girl sure knows how to make everything look pretty! From the pretty center pieces, to the napkins, the table numbers, the table runners … the candle holders … heck, even the tables and chairs … everything was so beautifully picked and hand crafted with so much love! Just beautiful!

I think the photos we took after the sun set are some of my favorites from the day. Looooved the pretty sky, soso pretty!

Never mind me posting the same photo twice, haha!

Ok, so … I’ll admit I’m the WORST when it comes to narrowing down photos for my blog, haha! Be prepared, bellow are a TON of party photos, but hey everybody had such a wonderful time and the dance floor was packed at ALL times, it’s hard to not keep shooting … and posting :o))

Oh no she didn’t …. YES she did :o))

You didn’t think I was already done posting party photos, right? ;o)

Susan & Corey • Engaged & almost married :o)

I guess I should start calling myself a destination photographer since in the past few years I’ve had to travel to ALL my weddings … but then I still call Boston my second home as that’s where we moved from and where most of my clients are (I love you guys all!) :o) Every once in a while though even the couple has to travel to their wedding location (ha!) so we share the same “destiny” and don’t really get to meet until the week of. I always strongly recommend a skype meeting in case we can’t meet for an interview before they book me (hey, you never know what kind of weirdo vendor you book, haha), but if for some reason that is not possible I REALLY insist on meeting a few days ahead of the big day to get some pre-wedding photos taken. There is a lot to be said to meeting the person that you’ll be smiling & around for for a full day. A quick little engagement / pre-wedding session will take away some of the stress and initial awkwardness and you’ll see you’ll be posing like pros on your big day :o) + it’s just nice to get to know each other a little bit and chat in between photos :o)

I absolutely love the photos I got of sweet Susan and her almost hubbers Corey. They took me to a beautiful beach on Martha’s vineyard where Corey grew up. You gotta scroll down, I reallllllly love some of the sunset photos we got by the rocks, soooooo very pretty!

Stay tuned for their beautiful wedding photos, I’ll post them in not too long :o)

Hope you enjoy the set :o)

Sooo many cute, cute smiles! Meet handsome Ian:

Ankita & Sachin • Museum of Science, Boston, MA

I hope you guys are prepared for this MEGA-post, haha! When I first went through the photos I selected 450 (!) photos that I thought would be nice to blog. While I don’t think I ended up exactly with that amount of photos, I think we got pretty close, haha! I know many photographers that won’t even give you that many photos – not really my approach when it comes to weddings & babies, but I believe every photographer can have their own thoughts about that. For me there are not enough memories that you can create on a day like that, same counts for baby photos – all the different smiles … it’s nice to look back and relive the moments :o)

Ankita’s & Sachin’s wedding was SO special to me, you guys have no idea how excited I was when Ankita & Sachin booked me. My mom used to work for an airline company back in the day which gave us awesome opportunities to travel around the world. I LOVED seeing other cultures – and was especially drawn to the Far East, especially Thailand and Indonesia. India was always my dream destination, and even if it took me a while to get there, I had an awesome trip and traveled around for about 5 weeks. The colors, the people, the culture! It’s just all so amazing and so beautiful! I LOVE cultural weddings, and I hope you all enjoy a little glimpse into this super fun wedding. – Yes, I probably overdid it with all the photos, but …. I love them all so much … :o)

What should I say, Ankita & Sachin sure had an awesome day, filled with LOTS of laughter and joy. You’ll have to see for yourself. They’re one wonderful couple and will always have a very special place in my heart <3

Ankita & Sachin held their ceremony & reception at the awesome Museum of Science in Boston. Honestly if you’re considering a downtown wedding with an awesome view and an opportunity for an outdoor ceremony, this is the place you want to look at!

Enough said, Ankita & Sachin I hope you guys had an awesome time in Hawai’i!!!

Here’s the sneak peek into their HUGE set of photos:

Anya (my daughter) keeps calling this the princes wedding :o)) Who would blame her?!

Ankita, just in case you haven’t heard it yet – you are drop dead gorgeous!

And a few of her handsome groom, Sachin:

We were able to take a few photos of them at a park across the Museum before a quick thunderstorm rolled in …

You just gotta love these two!

I think this one is my favorite from the day <3

Groom’s procession :o)

Photographer fun. Me shooting my sweet second shooter Geneve, who was shooting one of the guests :o))

Prince Sachin trying to beat the … leafy elements :o))

Love this little series :o))

It was SUCH a happy day for both families <3

And I loved these photos of Ankita’s grandma, blessing / welcoming Sachin into the family :o)

… and some photos of Ankita’s sweet mom:

Mmmmm ….. I didn’t know guys can get Mehndies also :o))

Love the way Ankita looks at Sachin in this one :o)

Ankita’s family was clearly happy having Sachin in their family – and I know Sachin’s family was happy to welcome Ankita too <3

SO MANY SMILES!!! <3 How could I ever pick a favorite???

Love the way Sachin looks at Ankita in this one :o)

A few from Geneve while I was taking family photos:

Hi videographer! ;o)

LOOK at all these expressions!!! LOVE this couple and their families <3

I don’t usually post that many candids, but I just couldn’t resist :o))

What a cool looking venue, right?!

Haha … runnnnn!!!!

Ok, I’ll have to explain the photo below (especially since I am actually a blog post behind / I haven’t posted their pre-wedding ceremonies yet). There was a certain guest that just looooved photobombing some of the family photos (you’ll see once I post my pre-wedding post), but this one (I’m assuming accidentally) definitely stole the show, haha! How about this as a photo bomb!??!!?

Let’s just say Indians LOVE to party!!! I haven’t been to one Indian wedding where the dance floor wasn’t packed, they sure love to dance!

VERY special thanks to my second photographer & great friend: Geneve

Venue: Museum of Science

DJ: Silk Events

Ankita & Sachin • Mehndi Party & Cocktails at Finale

Here are a few photos I don’t usually post, but hey … I thought there were so many smiles, and Ankita & Sachin threw SUCH a fun Mehndi Party that I just couldn’t resist :o) So …. excuse all the candids, and funny photo bomb photos, I hope I’ll put some smiles on your faces :o))

First off, …. of course I couldn’t resist taking just a FEW posed photos of the pretty couple – you know me :o)

Excuse me!!! What’s that finger on the left doing there!?!? Haha … I didn’t even see it sneaked in until I looked at the photos once I was back home again :o)) Sneaky-sneaky!

Let’s try that again! :o)

Not really sure you can see the “kiss stamp” on the 2 photos above, but it’s there and in big it looks too sweet :o)

Soso many smiles :o)

Figured I might as well post some more casual family photos, while I’m at it :o)

Have I mentioned that there was a serious photo bomber in the crowd?? :o))

There was loooots of singing, chanting and …. then they danced …. and danced. People from India sure know how to party!

And a few informal photos from Ankita’s & Sachin’s cocktail party at Finale – yummmmm!

First off a few of the couple :o))

Did you spot the photo bomber?? ^^  :o))

Sydney, 1 year old

Remember Rebecca & Brian, who got married at the beautiful Coonamessett Inn in 2011? I was dying to finally get to meet their little addition for a bit over a year, and boy is she one of the sweetest, most precious little things (not a big surprise knowing her sweet mommy & daddy). She’s such a little ham, running ALL OVER the place already (haha), and running the show, but …. it’s the cutest show on earth, so who minds?! :o)

Happy belated birthday sweet, little Syd! I love you to pieces! <3 <3 <3 It was SOSOSO nice finally getting to spend some time with you <3

Look at that hair blowing in the wind, how precious?!!!

Sarah & Domenic • Aldrich Mansion, Warwick, RI

It’s time to post some wedding photos again, are you guys ready for a little sneak peek into one of my most recent weddings?

My couples take me to the most beautiful places, how spoiled am I?! Sarah & Domenic got married at the GORGEOUS Aldrich Mansion, it is truly such a perfect place for a wedding, with soooo many beautiful spots for photos and beautiful history, it’s a dream for any photographer and it just screams elegance!

I am really excited to share this set, it was such a beautiful day – even if quite hot and humid a little thunderstorm ended up taking the edge away and the weather cleared up just in time for everybody to enjoy the beautiful view towards the water during cocktail hour.

Sarah & Nick, I hope you guys had an AMAZING time in Paris, I envied you for all the tasty food you guys were most likely eating and all the fun stuff you were seeing, … ah Europe …. how I miss you!

I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek, thanks for letting us capture your memorable day and a very special thanks to my second photographer Geneve who has been shooting on my side for FIVE years, wow how time flies – I included some of her photos below :o)

Sarah’s gorgeous dress, loved the lace and soft color! Soso beautiful!

Absolutely loved the soft colors of the flowers, so pretty! :o) … and the ring bearer’s pillow … too cute!

Isn’t the ring bearer’s outfit just toooo cute??? :o)

And a few portraits of the beautiful bride, Sarah :o)

and a few of Nick too :o)

I am so happy Sarah & Nick chose to do a first-look, so we could get the posed photos out of the way BEFORE the ceremony especially as there was a thunderstorm during the service and because the venue is just so big, it would have been such a shame to rush those photos! Thanks for allllllll the time you guys put aside for the photos! <3

Gotta love a fun bridal party :o) So sorry I chased you guys around during that heat, haha … I felt awful! You guys sure were great sports about it! :o)

A few of just the happy couple. Seriously – I looooove the Aldrich grounds! I bet you could shoot there every weekend and you’d keep discovering new spots.

And a few from the water front :o) Ahhhh, ocean side weddings – you know how to make me happy! :o)

SO MANY beautiful spots!!! And we’re not done yet!!

One of my favorites from the day, showing off the beautiful Aldrich Mansion!

Aaaaaand the gorgeous entrance! I mean, seriously!!! What a perfect spot to get married!!!!

Hey, gotta finish up in the tub, right? :o))

Looking happy! :o))

And I loved all of their details, especially the pretty place card holders … the flowers …. and plates, glasses …. everything looked SOOOO pretty!

Thank you everybody for a wonderful day!!!
